After reading and devouring Dance of Thieves, I started Vow as soon as I got it in my greedy hands.

I love love love Kazi and Jase. I love how they’re strong on their own, but even better and stronger together. I love their banter and sweet swoons and basically everything between them.

Plot wise, man...I wasn’t ready at all. This is a roller coaster of kissing and fighting and stabbing and explosions and treachery. Throw in a couple of surprising reveals and character appearances and I didn’t know

Overall, it was a phenomenal story that was equal parts maddening and satisfying. Huge thanks to Mary for these amazing books.

I absolutely loved the Kiss of Deception novels and the first book in this duology spinoff was great too! So my question was, how would this second book end? And applause, applause! Because it was very well done!

Reading the dual POVs from Jase and Kazi were both awesome! I loved and cared for them rather equally, which is usually a hard concept for me! I generally prefer one character over the other!

In this story, intense stuff goes down and it had my pulse racing! Without giving too much away,

I’m so glad I decided to re-read Dance of Thieves before diving into this one, because it made my whole reading experience to a whole another level. There were a lot of important details that were pretty important in this installment that I didn’t remember, and so going into Vow of Thieves with a fresh memory was a great idea. And oh my god, I’m pretty sure I haven’t suffered like this while reading a book in a while. I laughed, I cried, and I was tensed throughout the entire time.

Vow of Thieves was one of my most anticipated releases of this year. After the epilogue (or the last chapter) of Dance of Thieves and how things ended I needed to know what was going to happen with the Ballengers and the rest of the characters introduced in the first book, and even though I would love to read 5 more books about these characters because I love them, I think that Vow of Thieves was such a great conclusion (I don’t know if there’s going to be a third one in the series, but by the way this book ended, I have my doubts).

Though the plot wasn’t as action packed as the first installment and it was more about our main characters plotting and trying to figure everything out, I still think the way it was done was brilliant. I had this sense of anticipation the entire time, and because there were so many twists and turns as you continued with the story, I wasn’t bored at all. On the contrary, I wanted to keep reading and kept thinking about it even when I was not, just to see how everything was going to end and if my favorite characters were going to make it.

To be completely honest, I didn’t mind how slow burned this novel was because I feel there was a constant progression of the plot and the characters, and that kept the pacing of Vow of Thieves much smoother. It was very interesting how different it felt from the first installment, and I became pretty engaged with it.

When it comes to the characters, I have to say Vow of Thieves didn’t disappoint. I fell in love with this cast of characters and their relationships in Dance of Thieves, and those interactions were much deeper and complex in Vow of Thieves. I adored the two POVs, and how we learned different things about what was going on from each protagonist. Jase and Kazi were an iconic duo, and I found them incredibly fascinating the entirety of the story. Their relationship in this book was very well done, and their dynamics were on point.

The different friendships and family relationships were actually some of my favorite parts as well. I think that some of the things that happened between these characters, even though were pretty surprising, made a lot of sense after the events of Dance of Thieves. Still, I really enjoyed how close the Ballenger family was, and the development of the relationships and the different individuals.

The ending was pretty epic, if I’m being honest. I was so tensed reading that second half of the story, and since I didn’t know if there was going to be a third installment or not, I was afraid to keep reading just in case some of my favorite characters would die. However, the way things sum up and ended were pretty satisfying to me.

Overall, this series has become an all time favorite of mine. I adored these characters and their interactions, and how different it was from The Remnant Chronicles, and I enjoyed how things concluded in Vow of Thieves.

"Vow of Thieves" was my most anticipated release of this year and I wasn't disappointed. It was perfection. Everything that I was expecting and more. The story, the characters, the plot, the writing style, the ROMANCE...it was so good. I don't even have words to describe it. I don't know how I will recover after reading this book because my heart is torn in pieces.
