And it continues! We Never Learn remains nearly infinitely cute, with the characters relationships developing with some relatively meaningful events and revelations. It is absolutely insane how well this author has done to develop these characters, and I hope the quality stays this consistently high!

Wow, rating this volume was an absolute struggle for me. I eventually settled on four stars despite the numerous issues that I have, which will be discussed first and are as follows:

    1. The fan service in this volume extremely hit or miss. Some scenes, like Furuhashi pushing Yuiga into Rizu to get them to embrace only for him to fall face first into her boobs, are so predictable I can't even be mad at it.

Others, like Yuiga walking in on his female teacher on the floor of her apartment with her ass on display, made me cringe. However, the entire chapter devoted to the characters studying while bathing I found pretty funny and aesthetically pleasing.

    2. Kirisu's logic behind forcing Rizu and Furuhashi to stick to the strong suits makes sense in theory but not in context. The reason why her dreams were cut short were because she chose a sport where an athlete has a limited time as a pro in said sport. Furuhashi and Rizu want to attend schools that focus on academics, which will offer longer lasting careers. I get where Tsutsui is coming from with her backstory and that Kirisu's whole thing is careers should be decided with logic rather than emotion, but from a logical standpoint her argument doesn't work because her prior career was completely different than Rizu and Furuhashi's present career goals. Sorry, but in terms of motivations this is easily one of the weakest I've ever seen.

    3. The 3-A Committee to Protect Sleeping Beauty, aka the Thorn Club. Are you actually kidding me with this? Why is this necessary? How is this going to enhance the plot in any meaningful way? Oh wait, it doesn't. It's a complete waste of time, wasn't interesting, and wasn't funny. Thanks, Tsutsui, thanks a bunch.

Now I know what you're thinking, "if you have so many problems with this volume, why'd you give it four stars?". Here's why:

    1. Most importantly, I really enjoy some of the chapters and these individual chapters made up for some of the issues I have. As I mentioned earlier, I love the chapter where everyone's studying in the bath, but I also love the chapter where Rizu uses her old glasses. Just her perpetual squinty face is hilarious and adorable at the same time. I also really like back to back chapters with Uraka giving Yuiga a homemade lunch and trying to wrestle with rumors about him dating. The comedy is strong and Furuhashi gets to shine a bit, too.

    2. The art is incredibly strong in this volume, mostly for comedy but the characters' designs are really well-drawn. Everybody looks great and adorable, plus there are added art bits like Furuhashi putting together in her mind that Rizu likes Yuiga with puzzle piece imagery. I really enjoy it and it makes me smile as I read it.

    3. I'm glad that not only does Uraka know that she has feelings for him and is actively trying to confess to him, but Furuhashi has figured out both Uraka and Rizu like Yuiga as well. This level of self-awareness and character awareness is pretty rare in most romance manga and it is a refreshing breath of fresh air.

This turned out to be a bit more ranty than wanted it to be, but those are my thoughts on this volume. There was enough in it that made me give it such a high rating, but I do have concerns for this series. I can only hope it continues to be as entertaining as it has been because I do enjoy this series, despite its flaws.

Fun light read to pass the time during a hot summer Monday. Perfect for fans of harem manga (i.e. Nisekoi).

    7/10

It’s not a must read series. And I think this’ll be the lost volume I pick up. Might continue on the SJ app though

I really liked the direction this series started off in, but now it feels like it's going more into a girls-fawn-over-nerdy-guy story. It's not bad, just not what I was hoping for. Still interested in continuing.

True to its title, the girls in this series never learn. They're all interested in their tutor, Nariyuki, whose selflessness seems somehow irresistible to these characters. High school drama ensues.

This wasn't as bad as the second volume was.

This is supposed to be a harem style manga where Mr. Plain-but-Genuine gets wins all the girls hearts...WHY DOES IT FEEL LIKE I'M READING A SHOJO?! I don't care if Rizu or Fumino are supposed to end up with Nariyuki. I ship Nariyuki x Uruka. (Also, PLEASE don't make the teacher fall for him. That's just gonna be weird.)

Speaking of weird, a WARNING to anyone reading this volume! This one has a whole chapter of bath scenes so there will be a lot of (mildly censored) nudity. I repeat, this is a NSF
