This is not a new series for me. I read book one, Phantom Evil, back when it came out in 2011. I haven’t kept up with the series but I have a good chunk of these the books in my collection. This series is just a sweet spot for me. I love how all the elements combine to make not only a romance but add that dash of supernatural to just provide the right punch of awesome storytelling.

The setting is nice too. I think the original series started in New Orleans but I was happy to see it had moved to Savannah for this book. Lots of interesting ghostly things there. The character of Kristi has known all along that her house was haunted but when she actually sees her descendants in the flesh, so to speak, she freaks out. Classic!

Dallas has come to solve the mysterious death of a colleague. He can see dead people too but it is just a bit more apt at it. I liked how the newbie melded with the veteran ghost seer. The ghosts were a hoot too. Loved that aspect.

They brought in Jackson and Angela for this story as well which just reminds us that we are in a Krewe Hunters series. Graham also does a good job of introducing characters for upcoming books in the storyline so when the next book in the series comes out you aren’t surprised by who is staring in it.

This was like reading a book written by an old friend. All the elements I love wrapped up in one book. Reading this makes me want to get more updated on the series. Check this one out. It is a keeper. Highly recommended.

I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.

The Summoning by Heather Graham is the 27th book in the Krewe of Hunters series, and another great addition. I have read a few books in this series, but each book can be a stand alone. I enjoy this series about ghosts haunting, The Krewe travels to different places to investigate to either help or get rid of ghosts. I enjoy this book because you learn about new places and their history, along with spooky ghosts. I strongly recommend this book and series, for anyone who enjoys a good ghost story.

I love the "Krewe" series. And, Heather Graham always does a fantastic job with her historical research which adds so much flavor to each of the books. This book was no exception. Her descriptions of Savannah, the various locations used in the story line, the people and, of course, the history of the area really supported the story. Actually, I thought it became a character in the story itself. I found Kristi, the heroine, refreshing and her reactions to her newfound "abilities" comical and auth

Dallas, our hero, was the perfect relatively new "Krewe" member. Kristi's spirit ancestors were very endearing. Always wonderful to visit with Angela and Jackson Crow again. Another fun "Krewe" read. ;)

The Summoning is a new addition to the Krewe Hunters series. I was drawn to this story because I love Savannah, and I do believe it's a haunted place. The story is so atmospheric of this incredible city that it's like you're there. The characters are likeable and engaging. The plot is intriguing and I enjoyed the whole thing. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Kristi has inherited an old house in Savannah. The house is supposedly haunted. Strange things have been happening near the house, 2 people have disappeared and 2 others have died. Are they connected?

This is a book in the Krewe Of Hunters series. It does a good job of capturing the atmosphere of Savannah. There is also a good cast of likable characters, some not of this world. Thank you to net galley for an advancedreaders copy.

I first started reading the author's books in the 1990s, the Florida series. While those were fascinating, I find even more amazing how the author can write so many different series, occurring in different times and situations, all leaving the reader asking for more. I have only read a few of the Krewe of Hunters books, but they are just as riveting as the other series. The Cast of Characters at the begining of the book allows the book to be read as a stand alone.

The Krewe of Hunters, are a division of the FBI, but a special division made up of those who can see and talk to the dead. The first time that agent Dallas Wicker learned he could speaks to ghosts, he was but 10-years old. He had just lost his mother and was living with his aunt in Savannah, while his father was deployed overseas. His was drawn to the old cemetery near his aunt's house and that was where he met his first ghost and rescued an old man. Shortly there after his father returned and they moved to Virginia, but his love of old cemeteries and talking to the dead continued.

Kristi Stewart, media consultant and now owner of a bed and breakfast, McLane house, however, only started seeing the dead, when two of her ancestors appeared to her in the ancestral home, warning her that they thought she was in danger. Strange deaths and disappearances have happened in the old neighborhood in Savannah and seem to be centered on McLane house, which she had recently inherited. Follow the puzzling investigation which has more questions than answer, while watching Kristi and Dallas be pushed together by her match making ancestors. Fascinating, well developed and eclectic characters as varied as those on Gilligan's Island and a leave them guessing narrative make this an engrossing read.

I received a free advanced copy of this book from NetGalley.com. This was my unbiased and voluntary review.

Dallas Wicker knew he could communicate with ghosts from the time he was ten and a ghost in a Savannah cemetery helped him save a life and find the men who killed his mother. He also knew he wanted to protect and serve people. He's back in Savannah now, sent to check out two disappearances that may be connected to "officially" haunted places. One of those is the McLane House.

Kristi Stewart inherited the McLane House from her beloved great-uncle. She loves its history, and the story of its residents, Justin McLane who was hanged as a spy for the colonists during the Revolutionary War, and the tragic story of Monty McLane, a Confederate soldier said to have shot his wife and father when he returned home to find federal troops at the house. However, Kristi doesn't believe the Civil War story, and she doesn't believe in ghosts. At least she doesn't believe in ghosts until Justin and Monty appear and tell her they're worried, and want to protect her. When she runs from the house after seeing the ghosts, she runs right into Dallas Wicker's arms.

Wicker's cover story for his investigation in Savannah is that he's a private investigator looking into the death of a young man who was a friend of Kristi's. But, once he realizes she sees ghosts and is an expert on local history, he's willing to discuss his true purpose. He's there to look into the unexplained disappearances of two people who were concerned about crime in the city. One minute they were walking away. Then they were gone. Kristi and Dallas begin to suspect the disappearances may be connected to the McLane House and another house formerly owned by a family friend, the Murphy House.

The twenty-seventh Krewe of Hunters novel is as suspenseful and intriguing as the earlier ones in the series. It's always interesting to observe the reaction of a gifted individual who discovers they see ghosts. Kristi felt as if "Her world, her peaceful little world she had just been creating and coming to know and love, had been shattered." Dallas was shocked as a ten-year-old, but it's easier for a child to accept the gift.

As I said, there's mystery, ghosts, and romance. There's also humor, as anyone who is familiar with The Princess Bride will recognize when Dallas, just starting to fall in love with Kristi, responds, "As you wish." There's also the history of Savannah for those of us who appreciate those elements. Graham's characters and story are always well-developed. The Summoning is another success for Heather Graham.
