JP is not a stupid man, “when a woman says she’s ‘fine,’ that means she’s not fine.” JP may have confidence but when it comes to his woman hes unsure of everything, "I wait, rubbing my jaw, swallowing. I had it custom made for her because I couldn’t find exactly what I wanted. She swipes at her eyes. Jesus. I hope that means she’s happy." I liked this book, I loved JP.

This book deserves a big glowing review from me...But I'm sorry, I just don't have the time with rl getting in the way...so I'll make it short and sweet.

I loved it from the get-go! Chemistry galore. But then her ex shows up at the wedding, and uh-oh, did he just steal another man's girlfriend--AGAIN? This goes against everything JP vowed to avoid--no more emotional/bad decisions. It's time to straighten out your life and be responsible for once.

I won't go on. JP and Taylor were made for each other, so I urge everyone to take the time and invest in their story. It was all consuming for me. So hot. Such a redemption for JP. So Taylor got on my nerves a bit a few times...it didn't matter in the end. I loved their story and loved them. If only there was more of an epilogue (sigh)...

Maybe there will be an update in the next book...

    Another awesome read…

This author’s hockey romances have me before anyone says ‘hello’! Full of heart, sultry passion and lots and lots of complicated family, the drama and heat blend together into great reads. JP and Taylor’s courtship fit right in….

Timing was key and it didn’t always work in their favor. I loved JP’s need for control and how he soon realized he had none when it came to Taylor. Soul-searching and lots of honesty-baring conversations meant they would have a chance…

They were not perfect. They made mistakes. But the humanness of it all, the regret, the sorrow, the hope, the sense of family, rang true in the telling. And that telling? Well, it made for another awesome

    read.

Another hot Wynn (see what I did there?) From Kelly Jamieson and the Wynn Hockey series.

In It to Win It is book two and picks up the story of JP and Taylor. JP is a screw up, or at least he thinks he is. It's actually pretty painful to read. 😭

Taylor is stubborn and afraid after a family situation shakes her foundation.

Together they help each other do better and learn to love each other, in spite of themselves.

I loved this sweet story, didnt hurt

If you like hockey romances. Or just like romance, give Kelly Jamieson's Wynn Hockey series a chance. Pretty sure you'll enjoy reading about how these Wynn men mess things up.

Have you read the first book in the series yet? We met both JP and Taylor in Play to Win and while each book can be read as a standalone I would suggest reading the prior book so you can meet both JP and Taylor and see what has been going on with their lives and have brought them to where they are today and it would also give you some background on a pretty big scene that happens at JP's brother Théo's wedding. But as I said previously it can totally be read as a standalone if that is what you wish to do.

I really enjoyed JP and Taylor together. They each had some issues they were going through, Taylor's issues were new and she had some trouble adjusting to the changes going on in her life where as JP's issues were the same as they had been for a while, he was the black sheep of the family, the screw-up the one that always acted before he thought. But JP was trying to change all of that and honestly no one was seeing it and that pissed me off. Yes he made mistakes but seriously are you going to make him pay for them for the rest of his life especially since the one everyone likes to harp on was probably for the best anyway. Yes, he slept with his brothers girlfriend but she told him they were broken up and if she could do that with her boyfriends brother she can do that with anyone so why is the guy still paying for it years later??????

This was a great addition to the series, I really enjoyed the chemistry between Taylor and JP as well as their friendship. Byron was the best dog ever! If you enjoy sports romances especially hockey romances I urge you to grab a copy of this book I am sure you will enjoy it as much as I did.

    Happy Reading!!!

I like that the author jumped right into JP's story. He was not well liked in book 1 since he stole his brothers girlfriend. We did find out a few truths about that at the end of Theo and Lacey's book that didn't paint JP as bad as you are lead to believe. In fact, we learn a lot about JP in this book that shows there is always more that meets the eye. I like that we learn that JP is actually a really great guy who just doesn't always make the right choice.

Taylor is a girl who believes in love

Taylor is a girl who believes in love even if she has never experienced it herself. She isn't afraid to put herself out there to find it. She and JP start off on the wrong foot but the undeniable attraction is persistent and it takes a bit for them to find their footing. There is a bit of push and pull in the first half of the book but we do learn a lot about both these characters during this time.

It's not necessary to read book 1 first, however we do get a lot of Theo and Lacey in this book. We also get to see that spark for our next couple in book 3. I really like Everly and Wyatt sounds pretty intriguing.

That isn’t to say that the heroine was unlikeable, buy I thought the Hero, JP Wynn the Hockey Star from a Hockey dynasty was a better character. Taylor, the speech therapist is a good person, but some of her reasons for doing things were silly. She dates someone else for a while when she really likes JP for a really dumb reason.

The two meet at the wedding rehearsal of JP’s brother, Theo who is marrying Taylor’s friend Lacey. JP and Taylor are in the wedding and are attracted to each other and they end up sleeping together that evening and again the following day. JP has some issues with his family due to the fact that his brother Theo has always been smarter than him and held up to him as the perfect son.

JP has always felt that he can’t live up to the perfect standard that Theo sets. For the past year, JP’s family has been angry with him for stealing Theo’s former girlfriend Emma (the one prior to Lacey). They all think it was awful thing for a brother to do, despite the fact that it showed Theo what kind of girl Emma was and allowed him to meet Lacey.

Taylor had been dating a Hockey player named Manny, on the team Theo coaches until Manny got traded and ghosted her. Manny also shows up at the wedding. JP works very hard throughout the story to better himself and though he doesn’t always do the right thing, he is a great guy. The romance is beyond steamy. The side characters are funny and entertaining. I really enjoyed the journey and the fact that JP was willing to do all sorts of out of the box things for a manly hockey player in order to try to work on himself, reduce stress and get in touch with his emotions. Great story.

Thanks to Netgalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book has a relationship that went from hot to cold to medium to cold to hot….ackkk, at one point I was wondering if Ms. Jamieson was going to be able to bring me around, but she did and I ended up enjoying this book, but it took me a while to get there.

JP Wynn has a reputation on and off the ice and within his own family. Granted the one within his family wasn’t his entire fault, he didn’t know his brother’s ex-girlfriend wasn’t an ex when he slept with her but he still has to defend himself constantly around his family and he still beats himself up pretty regularly over it. JP has issues, his issues have issues and JP is in need of some good therapy, but I digress he isn’t a bad guy he is impulsive and has a bad case of “not good enough” syndrome.

I liked Taylor Hart in the first book; she had a fun personality that makes it easy to like her. However, in this book for a good part of it she seemed self centered and a bit judgmental and that was disappointing. I cut her some slack because there was a lot going on in her life that threw her for a loop, but at times she came off as rude and unfeeling towards others.

JP and Taylor jump right into a physical relationship which then leads to some complications when they both make assumptions about one another without communicating. I personally got tired of their on again off again friendship/relationship because it just seemed like they were both miserable a good part of this book.

JP showed amazing growth throughout this book which was nice to see and I was happy to see that his family saw it and told him they were proud of him; he really needed their approval. While he still made mistakes, he also tried to make up for them and his willingness to acknowledge them and apologize showed he was trying very hard to change his ways.

Not really liking the heroine and the back and forth relationship really put a damper on this book, but it was still well written, something I always look forward to when reading Ms. Jamieson, and while for me it wasn’t as good as the first book in this series, it was an integral part of the Wynn family series.

While a bit more angst filled than I normally like, I did enjoy In It To Win It and I am looking forward to the next book in this series!

J.P. the brother is attracted to Taylor and the night before the wedding they hook up and after the wedding during the dancing, she sees her ex from the first book another hockey player who now plays in Nashville. He had and has been ghosting her after he got traded when she thought that he would be staying in touch. While dancing with JP she makes eye contact with the ex-but she and JP go back upstairs to the hotel. When coming back down and going back to dancing she is shocked when he the ex-starts a fight with JP. She is also mad at JP for what I could not figure out because he was just protecting himself. Now for the rest of the story, he is trying to improve himself by not doing things that are self-destructive. He even starts to take up yoga as a joke at first but ends up sticking with it. He is still attracted to Taylor but he has to let her come to her own way of seeing him. She is having her own set of problems with her parents divorcing, selling the home she grew up in, and needing to find a home for her dog and to come to grips with her feelings about athletes, especially JP who she is finding harder and harder to stay away from. See what happens in this good story. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 4 stars. Follow us at
