Glimmer, Sing of Sun! Reviews
This is an absolutely precious book of rhyme for children! Each poem is so magical, particularly “A Breath of Sun”! The illustrations, as well, are simply stunning. Children will be captivated and entranced by the way all the colors come together to illustrate magical happiness!
I don't know which is better, the sparkling poetry or the whimsical pictures! The title perfectly explains the book. Every beautifully written poem and delightful piece of art on every page put me in that frame of mind that I once had before the world tainted and disappointed me. It's a wonderful place to go back and visit. Pretty sure I died and went to Cute Heaven. Raven Howell and Carina Povarchik are a perfect match. I am looking forward to finding more books from them!
I love this collection of poems that should not disappoint fans of Shimmer, Songs of Night by this fabulous poet and illustrator team. Each piece is a delight and the bright, vibrant illustrations are a spot-on match. I'm torn as to which is my favorite: "An Hour in a Snail's Day" or "Sprigs".
I received a free review copy of this book.
The colors are lovely and the art is charming! There's a lot of kids and animals playing outside. The poems have great bounce and a nice smooth flow to them, although there were a couple of places where I found the meter got rather clunky. A good book for kids with a happy, summery feel!
