Wow… just… wow. I finished this book at midnight and then lay in bed thinking about it until 1am when I had to get up and pour my feels out, so please excuse my scattered thoughts as I am deliriously tired and completely overwhelmed with the emotional ride that I just went on with this book.

After the first book in this series, I was expecting light and fluffy, but Natasha Madison brought the feels with this one! A stunningly emotional, heart-pounding romance with drama, angst and so many feels! It’s a beautifully written story of true love against the obstacles, with a deliciously slow-burning, chemistry-filled love story that absolutely owned my heart. A perfect combination of drama, heartache, humour and romance, this is my latest fave by Natasha, and I adored every moment of it!

This is the second book in the

series, which follows on from the

series. Technically, you could read this one as a standalone but the family dynamic has been built upon with every story, and you need that background to fully appreciate the connections and just how special they are as a group - it makes this book so much more meaningful than it would be as a standalone.

This is the story of Zoe. She is the daughter of Cooper and Parker (

), a sibling to the rest of the characters featured in the series, and twin sister of Zara from

. Zoe is a hardworking and highly successful real estate agent, dedicated to career above all else (with the exception of her family). She is smart, sweet and funny, with a huge heart, and I just love her.

Viktor Petrov is an NHL star who had a spectacular fall from grace. His out of control drug use led to his downfall and he ended up in rehab. Having finished his three months, he is out and starting a new life in New York with his new team, under the mentorship of team General Manager, Matthew Grant (

). He is serious about his recovery and is determined to claim his life back and make the most of his new opportunity.

Zoe and Viktor meet when she is brought on board to help him find a new home in New York, and from the first moment they lay eyes on each other, sparks fly. Their attraction is intense and visceral, but with Viktor in recovery and encouraged to stay away from relationships, and Zoe having sworn off hockey players, there is nowhere for their attraction to go. They are upfront and honest about their feelings and where they are at, and decide instead to be just friends.

It’s fun and flirty, and I loved every moment of the two of them together. I could feel that amazing spark between them, and I found myself smiling like a loon with each and every encounter. The more time they spend together, the more they begin to feel for each other, and the build-up and anticipation had my heart pounding as I eagerly waited for

to happen. But their road is not an easy one as they find themselves being in the impossible situation of falling for somebody that they just can’t have.

Oh. My. God. The feels! Firstly, you have this beautiful, beautiful love story as we watch these two people easily and unexpectedly in love. Against all that is standing in their way, and as much as they try to fight it, their fall is organic and complete, flowing so naturally, and I fell right alongside them. So I also experienced

as they deal with the reality of their situation. It’s heartbreaking and raw, and I was in tears with an aching heart as I watched it all play out.

As a romance reader, we know that there is a happy ending coming. You know it’s coming, you can feel it coming, but to the characters their situation feels insurmountable, and you’re feeling everything along with them as they fight to get there. It hurts, but it hurts so good, and the slow burn is absolutely sensational!

The love story is just gorgeous, and unfolding alongside of it is Viktor’s personal journey that is so beautifully written. Again, I could feel his torment over his past and his heartbreaking, constant struggle to overcome his demons. My heart broke for him, and I wanted to just reach into the book and hold him so bad! His struggles and vulnerability are raw and heartfelt, and his dedication and commitment to his recovery and healing himself is so heartfelt. And though his path is a rocky one, the strength he shows is amazing showing his incredible character.

And I love that Zoe is a part of that process. Her friendship and support is beautiful, and the inclusion of her family in all of that brings so much depth to the story.

But despite the serious subject matter, it’s not all depressing and gloomy. Zoe and Viktor have a lot of fun and happy moments together, the romance is just beautiful, and the sexy time is really freaking hot (and absolutely perfect… and I mean that in a totally non-pervy way). Zoe’s whole extended family are a huge part of the story, and in addition to providing emotional support, they also bring a whole lot of laughs. This group together is absolutely fantastic! The love and laugh, tease and banter, there is absolutely nothing off-limits between the girls (shout out to drunk Allison), and the protectiveness of all of those alphas had me laughing out loud.

Matthew, in particular, brings a lot to this book. Having set himself up as a cornerstone for his family, his love, support and protectiveness is so beautiful to see.

This is a really special read. A perfect blend of all of the things I love about romance – fun and flirty banter, wickedly funny group dynamics, heart-pounding drama and intensity that brings the feels, and an emotion-filled, passionate and all-consuming romance. I laughed and I cried, and I loved it so much.

The This Is series is back with another brilliant installment in this highly addicting series and oh my goodness y'all! Not only did she deliver her best book to date (totally my opinion here!) but she blew every single expectation I had for this romance right out of the freaking water!

This is Wild was so so so good. Sexy. Swoony. Intense. Enticing. Gritty. Angsty. Deep. Unputdownable. Zoe and Viktor's journey was a slow, slow burn that'll heat you up slowly from the inside until you are burning bright and ready to combust on the outside (but so worth every moment of the wait, pinkie swear!).

Zoe and Viktor absolutely lit up my kindle from the very moment they landed on the pages y'all and honestly kept me hooked until long after the words stopped (sorry sweetie for ignoring you sooooo much!!). So many feels. So many emotions. So much chemistry. So much... everything.

Their journey was intricately, delicately, and deeply woven with two unforgettable characters (plus a whole cast of new and old ones!) and one journey that'll totally steal every piece of your heart and leave you completely breathless by the end.

I'm a huge, huge fan of Natasha and all her books and all her words but this second generation is special, different, and this author at her very, very best.

    I highly recommend this book.

Procrastinating is normally not my thing, but This Is Wild is literally making me hesitate at every turn, it almost feels like I can’t write it…..And there are so many reasons why.

    How do you rate perfection?

How do you prevent your own words from tarnishing purity?

How can you put a label on uniqueness?

You simply can’t and my greatest fear is that I am just not going to be able to give This Is Wild any justice with my own words.

    The struggle is definitely real!!

Viktor and Zoe's story in all honesty is like no other. It’s a rare and very unique look at life through the eyes of an addict. The struggles they face, the fear, the guilt, the pain they caused. It explores the emotional side of things, once the cloud of addiction is lifted, and what life is like when there are no more scores, no more hits. It’s just you, the you that is now forever changed and is trying so desperately hard to get better and be someone better.

It also explores the devastation that addiction can cause, the relationships that become fractured, and how easily you can fall back into old habits. It delves into ones inner self and the strength that is needed every single day just to get by.

It’s such a gripping story that I personally connected with instantly. I was so drawn to it that I read it until the early hours of the morning….And yes I read it through blurry tear-stained eyes because it crushed my heart. It took my breath away every step of the way. There were so many defining moments that there would be no way that I could even pin point one for you. The whole novel was written so beautifully with so much emotional depth detail that I didn’t want it to end. I wanted to hold on to Viktor and Zoe for as long as I could. But I knew it had to end, and the ending was just…...I can’t tell you because even as I think back my eyes become all blurry again because I am still feeling emotional.

A powerful read like no other that I suggest everyone read. You will fall in love with both Viktor and Zoe, I just know it.

The amount of buzz I have been hearing about this book has left a persistent ringing in my ears. The amount of buzz I have been hearing about this book has left a persistent ringing in my ears. If you're familiar with Natasha Madison books, you know she's not afraid to pull at your heart strings. So, when the rumor mill started turning saying this is her best work yet, I knew I needed to prepare myself. I went out and bought a giant bottle of wine, several types of candy and told the hubby he needed to occupy himself for the night because I had a date with a book. Never in a million years could I have fathomed the impact this book would leave on my heart. Never would I have guessed that a book about a recovering addict would be so relatable - so realistic - so wildly perfect. Zoe deserved an epic love story. And Viktor was just the man to give it to her.

Story Line: We meet Zoe in book one of this series (side note you don't HAVE to read This Is Crazy first, however, I recommend it for full effect since many characters are mentioned who we've already met). Zoe is super successful in the real estate business. She's good at her job, loves it and is in a really good place in her life. Then comes Viktor. He's fresh out of 90 day rehab and moving from LA to New York to play hockey. He needs a new home and whose direction do you think he's pointed in? Ding Ding Ding. Our beautiful Zoe. But that's about as basic as this story gets. From their first meeting, it's crystal clear that they are going to connect on levels you and I have never even dreamed about. There's chemistry, sure. But not a single word in the English dictionary is strong enough to fully define the relationship Zoe and Viktor develop.

Interaction: From their very first conversation, I was waving the Zoe + Viktor flags like a dang relationship cheerleader. There is just something about their dynamic that had me absolutely infatuated with them from the very start. Zoe with her positive and sassy attitude is everything Viktor needs in his life. This man and his wounds are fresh - 90 days fresh. He's starting over completely new. New city, new support system. New everything. I swear to y'all, I could feel this man's pain. I could feel his struggle deep within my bones and maybe even beyond that. Every time he woke up covered in sweat, I swear to all that is holy, I was sweating too. Viktor and Zoe are the epitome of light and darkness. She is all that is light and beautiful in this world. And Viktor is coming from complete darkness - he has fallen victim to the evil this world has to offer. But instead of letting that evil rule his life, he chooses light. Every time he and Zoe are in the same room, everything about the fictional world and the world all around me was glowing. It's like a missing puzzle piece was clicked back into place. Zoe and Viktor are just RIGHT.

Laundry: Listen. I know this blog is all about the laundry (hint, if you're new here, laundry doesn't mean laundry. Laundry = naughty time) Anyways, I need y'all to open your minds and soak this in. Ready? The laundry was not my favorite part of This Is Wild. Want to know why? Because the character development was so much more than just leading up to laundry time. Do not misunderstand me. There IS laundry. And it is EVERYTHING. But you need to be patient. Viktor is on a journey of self worth and for he and Zoe to jump in the sack from early on, literally would not make any sense. At all. So, just sip your wine, dry your tears and enjoy the wild ride.

Depth: Viktor is a recovering addict. That's not a secret. I knew this going into my one night reading binge. What I didn't know was how much this man and his story would affect me. Don't get me wrong, I shed many tears for Zoe and her character this book, but for the first time in my life, I related to the male lead a little bit more. No, I'm not a recovering addict like he is. But I do struggle every single day with a form of addiction - addiction to food. I know it's not the same and I'm not downplaying the seriousness of what he went through or what he felt. But his inner monologue hit me HARD. Viktor is a broken man trying to find his self worth after hitting rock bottom. Just typing those words brings tears to my eyes because you don't have to be an addict to know what it feels like to struggle with self worth and loving yourself. We experience the highs and lows that come with a new relationship, and the highs and lows that come with fighting inner demons. Y'all, I was certain by the 66% marker that I was going to loathe this author the rest of her life. No joke. I was nearly hyperventilating reading these words and feeling every little thing these two were feeling. Your heart is going to be put to the test. You're going to find out just how many emotions you're capable of feeling in one sitting before your heart literally combusts. But it's so worth it. Every word, every page, is written with gut wrenching passion. So prepare yourselves and be ready to meet you new favorite book.

Viktor's story was a deep one that brought back some memories. Though my father did not battle the same addiction as Viktor it was still a battle and a very trying one as well. The meetings and the constant reliance on his sponsor are things I clearly remembered my father doing and without that emotional support I'm not sure if he would have been able to succeed.

I loved how raw and real Viktor's struggle was because despite being someone that had almost everything at his fingertips he still struggled like someone that didn't have the same luxury like him. All of this made him look more human. Zoe's friendship was something that Viktor needed and helped him to see that he was not alone and that he deserved goodness in his life.

Be prepared to go through an array of emotions with Viktor and Zoe. I truly cannot express how much I appreciate and how I've fallen in love not only with Natasha Madison's writing but the characters that feel so real and raw. Thank you for such beautiful gems and stories that leave me thinking. Kara~ 5 Brilliant Stars

Her side characters in these two series give them that something extra that I look for. She can really write a damaged, alpha hero, who also has a real sense of sincerity like nobodies business!

This was most definitely a slooow burn, as this friends-to-lovers was different from some of her other books, because it dealt in the aftermath of addiction, and the journey toward overcoming it. I kept thinking...’When are they going to get together, there aren’t that many pages left!?’ It was certainly heavier and than her other books in the “Something So” series, (the original series to this spin-off) and the first book in this series, “This Is.” These kind of stories hit me in the heart, especially when you have a close friend, or family member that’s gone through this kind of thing.

“Every day that you fight is an extra day with the light.”

I already had a fondness for Zoe, from the previous book, but Viktor was such a nice surprise! I love his determination to make his recovery his priority, even tho his affection and feelings for Zoe, also consumed him. His raw vulnerability stood out, and endeared me to him all the more! I thoroughly enjoyed watching this friendship bloom into something more!

Looking forward to Vivienne’s book next! I was super surprised to see who she’d be paired with and I’m super curious about their back story!

This Is Wild is the second book in Natasha's This Is series but can easily be read as a standalone.

I am always hit or miss with this author so I truly never know what I am going to get. But I love her writing style so I will always give her books a chance because I truly just never know.

This Is Wild was definitely not what I expected - it was more than I anticipated. Natasha does a great job of allowing this story to play out naturally and making it all the more real.

Viktor surprised me. I truly expected him to carry this "asshole" vibe in the book and he was the complete opposite and I LOVED IT!! He still had this off limits attitude but due to his past and where he is now, he definitely grew up and we get to see him finally come into this own.

Zoe is very head strong and has no qualms about not being in a relationship. Her focus is her career and she is ok with men coming second to that. She doesn't date hockey players and has never really been drawn to any to really find that a problem. Until Viktor.

I love the flow of this book - everything was smooth and at the right pace. I love the interactions between Zoe and Viktor and how things just happened naturally.

There are ALOT of secondary characters in this book. There were so many that it almost got to be too much and at times did get a bit confusing trying to pair everyone together. I assuming the are characters from previous books but if you have not read her other books these characters are in, it may seem overwhelming. A few definitely kept things interesting but I felt some of them could have been left out as they did not add anything to the story.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and these characters. It's definitely a fave of mine from Natasha.

This is the most emotional story I’ve read from Natasha Madison!

Zoe and Viktor are a beautiful couple with a breathtaking chemistry.

The author approaches Viktor’s addiction with respect and through his struggles he comes out strong. Zoe is also an amazing character, very supportive and will do anything for the people she loves.

Dual pov, slow burn romance and very good writing. I really enjoyed it and looking forward for Vivienne’s story.

    I liked

The Stone family and their interactions even Matthew's telling his sister's and wife about their revealing clothes constantly

I liked the family's support of Viktor's struggle especially as his family wasn't there

I liked that his struggle with his addiction isn't glossed over, in fact it actually took up a significant portion of the book

Zara and Evan had their baby

The epilogue (this was wonderfully done)

Things that didn't work for me

    Zoe

The romance between Viktor and Zoe. Now this is a slow burn because Viktor is a recovering addict which is a good thing but honestly there wasn't much build up to the romance. They had some convos, some interactions and then Zoe walks in on Viktor with his former teammate's with half naked girls and drugs. She assumed he'd been using and she runs off crying. She is heartbroken and breaks down to the point Evan has to carry her. She's upset because she loves him so much and I was honestly stunned. Where did that love come from? How? They'd barely spent time together and I think had one kiss. It just didn't seem reasonable

The first time they had sex, I'd have preferred she actually wait as he wanted, to make it to his year

All in all this was ok but didn't really work for me.

H has been celibate as he's been in rehab

h had sex 3 weeks before she met H with a coworker

    Struggle with cocaine addiction

There was a scene with some women and drugs that looked bad but he wasn't doing anything (I did think he could've shut it down sooner but I guess the drama would've been averted)
