Erin Nicholas is one of those authors, and Boys of the Bayou is one of those series where just having Crazy Rich Cajuns in your possession is a distinct pleasure. But as delicious as that feeling is, it won't hold you forever ;) Crazy Rich Cajuns is definitely one of those books where on the one hand, it can't get into my eyeballs fast enough, and on the other hand, I want to prolong the experience as much as possible because I'm going to love every second and will be so sad when it's done.

Crazy Rich Cajuns is the fourth in this series set in Autre in the Louisiana bayou, and is the long-awaited story featuring Kennedy Landry and Bennett Baxter. Kennedy is the "baby" at the Boys of the Bayou, with a host of older brothers and cousins and loving family to keep a watchful eye on her hijinks. And because of that loving support, Kennedy has definitely forged her own path. A former star of the pageant circuit, Kennedy sports her changing hair and permanent tattoos with aplomb, and with her smart wit and equally smart mouth, will never take anything lying down. And with all that familial support, she's the Boys of the Bayou's sole full-time employee, so she's an heiress of sorts to the swamp boat tour company her family's lovingly built with their own hands.

Bennett is heir to a different sort of empire. He's all slick suits and polished business acumen, and multiple degrees from excellent institutions of higher learning. While his lawyerly self can get the better end of any legal matter, it's likely he'd easily end up alligator bait in Autre. So... what's this ridiculous chemistry that sparks between these two? Why can't they stay in their own lanes?

The beauty of love and the beauty of an Erin Nicholas story is that THIS is where the magic is.

Another thing about Erin Nicholas stories is the many hidden depths.  Crazy Rich Cajuns is no exception.  While I expected and very happily enjoyed the witty banter and the wisecracking, flirty fun, Ms Nicholas also brings it home with all the layers to Bennett and Kennedy. We readers have the pleasure of seeing them wrestle with uncovering and discovering who they believe themselves to be, who they believe each other to be, and who they are figuring out they really are.

The Boys of the Bayou series is also very much about the love of family, and Crazy Rich Cajuns delivers there as well. Not everyone in the story starts off as a Kennedy fan (it's just shocking, isn't it? ;) ), but her big heart and willingness to go to the mat for those she loves?  That wins her some important hearts, and I'm blinking back the tears.  Ms Nicholas brings ALL the feels!

One other thing I loved about Crazy Rich Cajuns is that at the core, Bennett really is kind of a nerd. Those glasses aren't just for show, and he really IS a geeky science-loving lawyer. But that passion not only wins us over, it bowls Kennedy over.  And when Kennedy's gears get spinning, world?  WATCH OUT.  Ms Nicholas lets us see that when we pursue what wows us and drives us, we can do incredible things.  We real people can have real impact in our families and lives and communities.

Crazy Rich Cajuns is a feast for your heart.  It satisfies like nothing else on the first read (not even a crawfish boil!) and every re-read to come.

"Good Morning, Miss Landry" I don't know what it was about that opening line but I knew I'd be fanning myself with this story!

You've gotten glimpses of this building relationship over the last 3 books, but man, I never expected for it to be as awesome as it was. Sexy. Flirty. Romantic. Dirty. Perfect!

Kennedy and Bennett heat this book up from beginning to end. You will not be able to put it down. What a wonderful ending to this series. As always, I can't wait to see what Erin Nicholas gives us

This story went above and beyond what I could have ever imagined for Kennedy and Bennett. I’ve been looking forward to their story, and Erin Nicholas didn’t disappoint. There were twists throughout, and the chemistry between these two was off the charts. The banter between these two had me cracking up.

Kennedy is such a relatable heroine. She says what’s on her mind, but does it in an acceptable way.... mostly 😂😂😂. Bennett is perfect for her. He loves her just the way she is, and wouldn’t have

The family. Oh, how I love the Landry family. They’re wild. They’re crazy. And have the perfect amount of drama that will make you want to be a part of it.

An amazing addition to the Boys Of The Bayou series that I would highly recommend!

Let me start off with a PSA. Don't take any kind of drink while reading anything Kennedy has to say. She is THE most sassy, honest and up front character I think I have ever read. Her mouth gets her into the most flirtatious conversations that have some solid results. Bennett is the one with whom she has these conversations. He has no problems ramping up the flirtation to panty melting faster than a quick talking politician. Now I must admit that I have read all of the previous books. Does that

He has no problems ramping up the flirtation to panty melting faster than a quick talking politician. Now I must admit that I have read all of the previous books. Does that mean you need to? No. Kennedy and Bennett can stand on their own. But if you do, you can see how they dance around one another from the very lol first insulting flirty statement. I loved how they start this book at full speed and never really slow down. Kennedy's family, the Laundry's, are a full speed kind of family too. The support they have for one another is unrivaled. They have each others backs. But the teasing they do to each other means they are a family member and belong. That's what Bennett wants, a place to call home and he believes that starts with Kennedy. As with all Erin Nicholas books, there are some deep self realizing moments here that make me want to jump into these books and help them through it all. Kennedy and Bennett are no different. Kennedy finds something she never would have without Bennett and his own crazy family. And Bennett finds his place in her crazy life.

This girl from the bayou is the best of the Boys of the Bayou series. Not only was I laughing at page one, there was no way I was putting this book down, regardless of how late it got!

Not only does she have a smart mouth, but she’s got street smarts that will get her farther in life than most people. She a caretaker of her family, as well as the family business. And she’s got the hots for buttoned-up, shiny shoe (ha!) Georgia lawyer Bennett...and isn’t sure whether she likes it or not! Bennett likes to give it right back to Kennedy, which throws her off her game when he tosses the curse words and dirty talk right back at her.

The smoking hot chemistry is there between our mis-matched couple, as is the fun and dysfunction of the Landry family that we’ve seen in the previous books. But what Nicholas threw into Crazy Rich Cajuns was current crises and issues facing our country now, without it sounding preachy or political. It fit into the storyline seamlessly and brought both surprises and a richness to the book that stepped it up from the Landry boys books. That’s not a complaint or a dig...Owen, Josh and Sawyer’s stories were awesome. Kennedy’s books is fantastic!

Yes, it can be read alone, as the whole series can. But please don’t. Read them all, in order, if that’s your groove (like it is mine). Despite the heat, humidity and bayou creatures, you’ll be itching to move to Autry, LA and looking for the Landry family yourself!

This writer is one of the few voices in contemporary romance who has the ability to bring my world to a screeching halt. The second her book is available to me, everything in my life ceases to exist (sorry family) and I greedily soak up every word. That didn’t happen overnight, but time and time again her talent, humor and heart have effortlessly made me fall in love with her characters so that I will always, always need her next book in my life.

Truthfully, I’ve been dying for Kennedy and Bennett's book. The glimpses we’ve had of them so far have been sassy, snarky and hilarious, so I knew their story would be epic, but this was so much better than I could have imagined! OMGee, the way these two dance around each other is a delicious kind of agony that builds the most tantalizing anticipation. These two snap and snip and quarrel, and it only serves to turn up the tension and heat until they finally face facts, give in to their feelings for each other, and singe everything within a ten mile radius.

We can’t really talk about any of these stand-alone books in this series without acknowledging the Landry clan. The big, loud, crazy, interfering, endearing, delightful Landrys. With quirks for days and opinions whether or not you want to hear them, this rambunctious, larger-than-life family will make you want to move to Autre, LA, just to be in the Landrys’ orbit. Somehow, each book in this series is better than the last, and these crazy Cajuns permanently own a huge chunk of my heart.

If you’re new to this series, Kennedy and Bennett’s story is a great place to start, but I’ll warn you. Once you get a taste of these bayou boys (and gals), it’s exactly like potato chips and you won’t be able stop with just one. The setting will intrigue you, the characters will enchant you, and their story will captivate you, so that you’ll finish the book with a happy sigh while eagerly anticipating your next encounter with these beloved characters. Do yourself a big favor and escape to Autre today!

Bennett and Kennedy exceeded everything I thought they would be. They were so much more and then some! I just loved them. Kennedy and Bennett are fantastic together; from their fun, flirty banter, their sizzling hot encounters to their sweet romantic gestures which was the best lead up to a surprising and yet perfect happily ever after.

Kennedy and Bennett heat this book up from beginning to end. I could not put it down. As always, I cannot wait to see what Erin Nicholas comes up with next!

Leaving progressively more and more threatening messages about what you were going to do to me when you did finally get a hold of me,” he told her, signing off on the bottom of the letter he’d just finished and moving it to the side.

“I would never do that,” she said.

“No?” When she did finally send him reports it was always in folders that were named things like I’m Not Your Fucking Secretary and If You Ask Me to Get You Coffee It Will Definitely Have Turtle Shit In It.

“If I really needed your attention, I’d start texting. Photos. Naked photos.”

His entire body reacted to that. He cleared his throat. “I would definitely—.”

    “Of my grandfather.”

Bennett paused. Then groaned. He knew her grandfather. Leo Landry was a great guy. Funny, down-to-earth, honest, loyal. And someone that Bennett absolutely did not ever want to see naked. Ever.

    “You’re an evil woman.”

    “Remember that.”
