Right from the beginning, this story captured my imagination and heart and I was blissfully along for this journey! These quirky characters, heavenly burdened with past baggage somehow tugged on my heart-strings. Sitting down with this story was like welcoming old friends over for a hearty meal and delightful conversation. Sondra Kraak brings not only the characters but the landscape to vivid reality! Like a warm embrace, I felt welcomed into the telling of this captivating story.

I loved these characters, and I smile just thinking about them! A handsome, log-rolling, lumber owner with a shadowy past. A quirky heroine with big dreams, a big heart, and insecurities. Both have important lessons to learn, and growth to make. But will they let down the thick walls they have built around their hearts? Or will the walls and dreams keep them apart?

While the story focuses on two primary characters, secondary characters from previous books do have appearances. I would recommend reading the books of this collection in order, for both continuity, and because they are just sooo good!

I have loved every book from Sondra Kraak’s, and this one is no different. Fans of Karen Witemeyer, Jody Hedlund and Melissa Jagears will find this collection of stories a happy addition to their favorite keeper shelf!

This book has "all the feels"! I'm not even sure how to put my feelings into words. I loved the drama, the missing sister, the families, the brothers, Pine Creek (with the exception of the mayor, I don't like him at all), and the forest. The author transported me through time with such beautiful imagery, I could almost smell the night air.

I loved Torin and Grace. Their romance is a hard-fought journey. I loved all of it! I will let the authors' words describe romance for she wrote it best.

"Romance isn't the magic of words of feelings. It isn't the luring of another's affection with gifts and flattery. ...It's fierce in commitment and unyielding in seeking another's good."

I left out part of that description so you can read it yourself. It is a powerful scene.

This is a keep forever, and revisit it often book for me.

This was an utterly magnificent read! I have no idea how I’m going to make it through this review without just gushing all over the place, but oh! This story! My romance-loving heart is full to bursting. In fact, at one point, I really did think it would burst because there was sooooo much delicious romantic tension building up. I mean, the first time Torin and Grace lay eyes on each other is breathtaking—quite literally in some ways. I think it officially rates as one of my most favourite

I mean, the first time Torin and Grace lay eyes on each other is breathtaking—quite literally in some ways. I think it officially rates as one of my most favourite meetings of all times. But from then on, this is a slow-burn romance. Emphasis on slow and burn—although I hasten to assure you that slow does not mean boring!

Torin is such a fantastic hero, especially if you like the “still waters run deep” kind of hero. He’s the eldest son in a family whose prosperity has come from their very successful logging company. As the eldest, Torin is chief in both name and expectation, but he’s also made a name for himself as the Cunning Conservationist, penning articles advocating for reform in the very industry that gives his family its livelihood. Further, he shortly expects to receive an offer of employment from either the Department of the Interior or the Division of Forestry, which will take him far from his family in Pine Creek and Washington State.

He’s reclusive and standoffish, particularly in comparison to his lively and flirtatious younger brothers, and yet he’s a deeply passionate man who claims

    Or how about this:

Slay. Me. Now. And if you think the words are impressive, wait until you see him in action. And Sondra Kraak’s writing just adds to the depth—both the characters and the story. I could truly gush all day. And lest you think all this gushing is simply about the hero, Grace is just as wonderfully characterised, and they each have a wonderful journey of personal and spiritual growth in this story that can be summarised by such quotes as:

I could go on, but I think you get the idea. This story hit me in all the right places, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

I received a copy of this novel from the author. This has not influenced the content of my review, which is my honest and unbiased opinion.

I adore Sondra's writing. Her lyrical prose is perfect. The settings she casts are vivid and lovely. And her characters are layered, flawed, and hopeful. And as always with this writer, a beautiful heart for God seeps through a story of surrender, of hoping again, and looking past the dreams we might have for ourselves to the things that God might have in store instead. Sondra is a not-to-be-missed author, and this book did not disappoint.

I love Sondra Kraak's story telling! Four dreams of You is the fourth book of this series, and I loved it! Grace is in all four books, but this is her story. She meets Torin Monaghan because she is staring at him and runs into a tree. They spend time together and reluctantly fall in love. Great story!

I simply could not put this book down. I loved the first three in the series, but this one is even better, if that is even possible. I loved it that Luke and Cam had roles in this book. What a great book. I will be reading it again.

What fun it was to return to Pine Creek, Washington in Four Dreams of You, Sondra Kraak’s latest edition to her Love That Counts series. I enjoyed reconnecting with some of the characters from the previous books. Torin Monaghan has earned a place on my favorite heroes list. Although he is very competent and protective of his family, he is quiet, keeps to himself a lot of the time and tends to be more serious than others in his family. Because he is the oldest sibling, the others in his family look to him as a leader and steadying force. His passion for conservation has put him in the public eye and brought him to the attention of those high in the government.

“She’d not been aware of the steadiness that Torin brought until it was missing. Strange that the quiet one would have the loudest presence . . . “

Grace Thomas makes a wonderful heroine. I loved her compassion for others and her willingness to help anywhere she’s needed. Both Grace and Torin have wounds that need to be healed, and I enjoyed seeing them help each other heal and grow.

“Don’t settle for just anything because you’re afraid you’ll end up with nothing.”

Kraak is a very insightful author, and I love how she adds inspiration and depth to her stories. “God isn’t pushed away by our sharp edges. He draws even closer during those times when others are driven away.” “God doesn’t abandon his own. He doesn’t tire of us or grow weary with us. He goes with us into the valleys, and he camps with us on the mountains.” Courage, faith, love of family, and integrity are woven seamlessly through this story.

This book has a little of everything—suspense, intrigue, romance, and inspiration. I recommend it to those who enjoy well-written historical fiction. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Grace has determined in her heart that her dreams will not be fulfilled, that she doesn't have what it takes for anyone to love her. Torin doesn't want to love anyone because he has big plans for his life. But guess what? God's plans will always trump ours. What follows is a precious story of hope being found where none was expected and love filling up all the empty places. Torin's heart was absolutely wonderful! I loved his love for God. Recommended.

Right away the stage has been set for a broody lumberman to literally knock a beautiful seamstress off her feet. (technically, it was her saddle, but does that really matter?) Suffering from a mild concussion and a hefty dose of humiliation, Grace Thomas recovers slowly enough to realize that one of the three Monaghan brothers was the source of her distraction. Despite the relentless attention from two of them, it's the more reserved Torin that makes Grace's heart beat just a little faster.

For Grace, notions of romance have always been clouded with a sense of failure and abandonment; watching her brothers and friends pair off has left her wondering if the only dream worth following is proprietorship; owning her own dress shop in her small town of Pine Creek. She never expected her spontaneous love of colors and unfinished sentences to draw the unfettered attention of a man like Torin, whose own dreams and goals as a nationally recognized conservationist will take him miles away from Grace's imagination. Or is it Grace's imagination that will keep her miles away from Torin? Only God knows.

"One doesn't seek romance in a book. " . . . "Then where?" she whispered. "I'll let you know when I find it."

What an sensory overload of emotions invade the pages of this witty, lovely, inspiring story; showcasing the author's incredible spiritual depth and her surprising, refreshing sense of humor.

some nice historical details here— especially about the lumber business and running logs. I was especially impressed by the hero who has a winning depth to him and for all his protestations outwardly feels and loves deeply. I did find that he let his guard down to the heroine a tad quickly considering a trope where I anticipated a slow burn. There are some gorgeous descriptions, too.
